Production Assistant/Intern Opportunity with Oregon Art Beat

OPB is seeking intern or volunteer candidates for to work with our locally-produced television arts show - Oregon Art Beat. Art Beat is producing a documentary, supporting web materials and more about the August Wilson Monologue Competition here in Portland.


This intern would have the opportunity to participate in various aspects of TV production planning and execution, as well as content creation for other platforms.


Tasks may include:

  • research and fact checking

  • management of logistics surrounding field production work and script-writing

  • possible creating related content for other OPB platforms

  • possibly creating a social media presence

  • logging tapes and other administrative tasks


Qualifications:

  • Experience with video production is a plus.

  • Must be a team player, able and willing to collaborate with good communication skills.

  • Good research and reference skills and the motivation to be detail-oriented, as well as experience fact checking is a plus.

  • Interest in the themes and messages in August Wilson’s work is necessary for this position.

  • Knowledge about Portland history and culture and theatre performance is helpful.

  • Experience with Adobe Premiere and blogging is a plus.


Structure of Internship:

  • This position is a minimum of three months, possibly up to 6 months, for about 20 hours each week.

  • Work will take place at OPB Headquarters in SW Portland and in the field. Some Saturday work will be required as well as during business hours Monday-Friday.

  • This position will meet the requirements of most academic internships, but earning credit is not required. The intern or volunteer will have an experience that is educational and foundational for a professional career in television production, documentary production or other related fields.
