New Volunteer Resources Coordianator!

Post date: Sep 23, 2019

We’re excited to welcome Carmen Solari, our new Volunteer Resources Coordinator, to OPB! Carmen served as Volunteer Coordinator and Program Manager for the Peace and Justice Center in Burlington, Vermont. Over the past few years, she has built a career as an independent cataloger and researcher for various book dealers in the area, her favorite being Crooked House Books, featuring women’s history and vintage bindings.

Carmen has a BA from the University of Vermont in English and Comparative Religion. She moved to the west coast in 2015 and relocated to Portland last December from Southern Oregon. She is a registered yoga teacher and massage therapist, and mostly enjoys doing yoga, seeing live music, and exploring the PNW with her pit bull/lab mix, Karma, who’s been her #1 for 10 years and counting.

Carmen will be in the office three days a week to support the Volunteer Resources team, and also will be helping with membership drives. When you’re on your way to visit Barb’s candy bowl, please stop by to say “hi” and ask her about the most interesting rare books she’s come across so far!
